Turn off cloud synchronization for this game, exit Steam and delete the files castlevania.cfg and castlevania.profile located here: Steam\userdata\[User ID]\234080\remote.
After the new save is created (or after you complete the 1st mission) you can activate Cloud Sync again. Steam will ask which save you want to keep. Choose the latest one.

You can also delete the files and start a NG with Steam in offline mode.
After you complete the first mission, go online again. When Steam asks which save you want, choose the latest one.

Did you find the files castlevania.cfg and castlevania.profile?
If you deleted those 2 files, started the game disconnected from the internet, and it's still loading the old save, then the game must be saving somewhere else. Search for the files in the drive, and not only in the folders where they're supposed to be. 👍🏽

Gotta be honest been looking for something like this for quite some time got over 500k exp I can't use on anything and it just keeps pilling up, wouldnt be so bad if I could just turn off exp entirely.

So thanks for that, love the lords of shadow series but good lord getting a fresh save is complicated on both 1 and 2.

Anyone know how to start a new game on steam deck? Can only find guides for PC and can't find anywhere how to do it on deck???
That file path leads to nothing
What is the actual file path? I tried looking for what you put and it lead to nothing. So I would like the actual one please.
