Potential fix for visual glitches
I've been enjoying revisiting this game on PC after so many years, but I seemed to encounter visual glitches in every level. Sometimes the sky box would disappear, stretched vertices etc etc. Reading the forums, I noticed I was not alone, but couldn't find a concrete fix. Hopping between fullscreen and windowed mode would sometimes help the issue, but wouldn't work all the time.

After some browsing, I found this thread;

I decided to give DXVK a try. DXVK will run the game with Vulkan instead. I've now been able to play through pretty much the entirety of chapter 2 without any visual glitches at all. Went back to the levels that were previous giving me trouble and the issues were gone! I consider this one a success. If you're having issues, consider giving this a shot.

Short Guide:
1. Download the latest .tar.gz from https://github.com/doitsujin/dxvk/releases
2. Use a program like 7zip to extract the .tar.gz file
3. Open up the newly extracted .tar file and enter the dxvk folder within
4. Open the x32 folder
5. Drag the d3d9.dll file to the Bin folder contained in your game installation location (Steam\steamapps\common\CastlevaniaLoS\bin)
6. Enjoy the game without game breaking visual glitches! (fingers crossed) :praisesun:

I need to try this solution because I had given up playing because of this bug. I'll install it again and come back here to give feedback.

Just wanted to mention that running this game on Linux (Steam flatpak version) through Proton experimental (after enabling it for all titles in the options) works perfectly!

I have the glitches on Windows, and none on Linux. A win for the penguin ^_^

All the more reason I’m looking forward to the next iteration of Steam OS! I hope they release it before the Steam Deck comes out.

I can confirm that by simply dragging and dropping the d3d9.dll file to the bin folder, the game is running properly on Windows 10. Before that, the game was not even running properly (game was running only in the background, and freezing the screen when I put the game in foreground)
Attempted this, resulted in the game just not opening at all and saving crash reports. Unsure what to do as Level 2 of Chapter 2 is practically unplayable due to the amount of visual errors.

nice

It works. I recommend that after applying it, delete all game data and start a new game. To avoid inconveniences.

I am right there with you. Does anybody know what to do? I can share the report files as one of them is a text file, not sure what it is trying to tell me though

You do realise that you're posting nearly a year after the last post, right? So, most likely most people have found a solution and/or have moved on (perhaps onto something else entirelly different).

But since the post you quoted isn't specific enough per se, what have you attempted to solve this issue more exactly? :winter2019happybulb:
And I say this but am running the game without a glitch upon a Windows 10 OS. Although since I'm also running Sacred 2: Fallen Angel Gold edition and a few older games that require and install DX9 by default, so... :baa:
