it's set in the old world, the setting of warhammer fantasy. precisely it's set at around the end times event that ended the setting, at least for now.

flthy liar!
First time I'm moving a thread to lore discussion, sadly it's not always the most active subforum, I like learning about Warhammer lore outside of Vermintide ^^

There are Warhammer Fantasy and 40k, one is Fantasy and one is Sci-Fi.

This is the Fantasy one, with the events playing in the End Times, the last great event before all ended.

The story of our heroes are small and meaningless on the gradn scale, but were made canon due to the success of the game.

If you are have more interest in it I can provide you with various reading sources for the Lore of the Universe.

Good.
So there are three major sites where you can draw you knowledge from, aside from videos or forums where they delve a bit deeper.

Warhammer Fantasy Wikia:
The largest and most complete wikia as of known(at least more trivial stuff than in Lexicanum and more up to date), fomerly Lexicanum, which still has tons of stuff, but I found it lacking some things in particular if you want to get deep into it, is more updated than lexicanum, focus lies now on Age of Sigmar.

Lexicanum:
The standard to go site everyone will recommend you, all with facts sources and so on, but like I said I kinda lack s depth, content is spread through Englisch and German( same with wkia with englisch and spain, but since im german, I can at least read it).
http://whfb.lexicanum.com/wiki/Main_Page

1d4.chan: without the point inbetween(cause steam censors it):
Detailed Events if you want to read up on End Times, a lot of stuff a newcomer wouldnt understand, memes, jokes etc. Great for fluff bits usually not found in the other two and some more explanations at how things work in Warhammer.
Really great site.
