As for anything else new coming out I can't say that I've personally seen anything to write home to Mom about as of yet. lol Based off the footage I've seen if I were going to pick just one game The Day Before reminded me of it would be Dead Frontier 2. Which is an all right game, but lacks some elements that would make it a great game. Over all I just think I am going to wait it out mates. So I think I'm good for now.
dayz is trash full of bugs
The downside to that game is because it is a voxel based game the servers don't hold as large of a population that DayZ would. So you not going to see 100 or more player servers. I like it because unlike DayZ and Rust you can play in either single player, multi-player, and/or on servers. So you have options. Your internet goes out you can still play your game and pass the time.
Also the game settings are very good to where you can tailor your zombie apocalypse to how you see fit. Want a Walking Dead experience? You got it. Want a WarZ experience you got it. Every 7 days you have a blood moon where zombies constantly attack threw out the night.
Both games are moddable which makes customization even more in depth. Now if you just want straight pvp there is a game on Steam called The New Z. Download that client and that one only. All versions on Steam are the same client essentially. It's the current version of WarZ aka Infestation Survival Stories which was the DayZ mods competitor back when survival games first came out.
It's totally free and I wouldn't put any money on it if I were you. I'm not a fan of the store set up they have. Also you run the same risk of hackers like you would in DayZ or any other game. It's free though. I play in survival mode myself, but they have an arcade mode where you can run and gun a little bit more. Zombies can be super tough so be careful. lol
Personally I've clocked more hours in to 7 Days To Die then any other survival game I've tried out mate. If you have a group of friends you like to play with then that would be the game. Plus you can rent servers for dirt cheap too if you decide you don't want to run one or host an mp game. There is just no other game that has better base building aspects in it then this one.
If I'm not playing games like Contagion or other type of games then I'm generally playing that one. Both of those games are generally dirt cheap on a Steam sale too. I'd say grab them up then. Hope this helps and good luck mate.
