PIG FEST

Aww, I missed the extended demo. One week really isn't enough for Next Fest with how much stuff is there, it's actually kind of stressful.

Aw sorry you missed it! We found Next Fest to be pretty stressful too. 😅 We'll have the full game ready before too long though!

I handle Next Fests in a really stupid way. I first download way too many demos which might only vaguely be within my interests (and kind of mess up my computer in the process) and sample them briefly to decide if I want to actually play through them. Part of the problem is that I sometimes actually play them more than I probably should. I then make a list to assess which ones are most likely to disappear or lose features when Next Fest ends, though this time I only got to that step on Sunday night. This one ranked really high on the list, but I made the mistake of prioritizing a different RPG demo that was slated to go away at some unspecified time in the future. While playing that, I saw that Steam had an update for this one, and I knew what had happened. Wishlisted regardless, though.

That sounds like a pretty good strategy for trying to get the most out of Next Fest! I think I read there were over 2,000 demos this time if I'm not mistaken - so it's overwhelming for sure. What demos did you enjoy the most that you got to try? And thanks for wishlisting!

It seems like a good strategy... except I had over 140 demos still installed after that first round of eliminations, I believe. I have problems.
I was trying to avoid naming names, but since you're asking... Escape from Ever After is the one I made the mistake of playing first. (I wishlisted that one too.)
I have not yet had time to play through most of the other demos, but I was already interested in Stomp and the Sword of Miracles before Next Fest, and briefly playing the demo did not make me lose interest in it. Metroidvanias are kind of my main thing, but I'm a bit behind the times. I finished Nine Sols in the week before Next Fest, and I have yet to really look at Silksong.
I don't feel confident enough to make a solid recommendation about the many other demos I still have installed, though.

140 still on the list! wow! Well don't think of it as a problem, think of it as a gift :) And thanks for sharing those! Always interested to hear what others have enjoyed since we don't have time to try other games ourselves too often these days. I hadn't heard of Stomp - really like the look of that one!

I first heard about Stomp because it was one of the games that delayed things because of Silksong suddenly having a release date.
Noooo I didn’t realize I could have played more H&P. It’s joever
