and the save will also be corrupted. it looks like this is somehow related to the autosave to fail - the game reaches some fail state, the 3 turn autosave ticks (with the bad index), and the save fails, crashes the game, and corrupts the save.
I then started a game as the Lombards,. and it is quite literally impossible to get past the first winter before you fail due to starvation. There simply aren't enough turns of food before you manage to get multiple loggers out to get enough timber to build your first farm, and by that time you've reached starvation and are in your first winter, so even if you do manage to get a farm on a resource, you aren't producing food from it. I guess it would be possible to survive as the Lombards if you were lucky with fish deposits, but that's too much of a wildcard to try and play a game with.
The food consumption is absolutely ridiculous, please change it.
1.2 is fair for all but the Lombards; i don’t really get your logic as a berry collector and hunter can keep 12 clans alive for the first couple years. After that you need to move into fishing
If you’ve been upgrading to 18 clans before turn 100 you’ve been making a fatal tactical error
I plan on posting a new version near the end of August which adds basic difficulty levels, as I think we've reached the point where the food balance is calibrated for one part of the audience but not other folks.

I really thought you would fix the caravan. I cannot 'find' the upgrade to the caravan; I have to play the game with caravan un-upgraded throughout the entire game - which means I can never purchase higher-level goods in any amount.
And no, changing the screen resolution on my laptop does not fix it. A simple short-term fix would be to activate an upgrade with a hotbutton, and respond here to let us know what the hotbutton is to upgrade the caravan (so I need not see the button). Please fix this. I have waited patiently for your updates to fix it, but you simply have not done so yet.
