Build order
So what’s everyone using for early game build order?

Personally I am finding that something like

Discovery
Lore master
Whatever
Honor
Feast master

Using the two boosts on the most suitable candidates to get them to three and so only use one turn training.

build order depends on which tribe you select and how you're positioned. just a few examples; if you have berries right next to your camp, your first build would be a gatherer. if you have fish next to your camp, you would want to make a fisherman first.

Unless I’m thinking wrong early food production is a waste since having more food than you need doesn’t do anything and you get more efficient with production later in the game.

you start with 10 food with -1/ turn, unless you're the Goths, which is 15 -1/turn. You'll run out of food mid winter if you don't start gathering right away or spend all of your initial funds on food at the caravan.

Unless I'm playing the Picts, or get a forced-Agri clan, I tend to buy my early food from the caravan.

Explorer
Digger
Wood Cutter
2nd Digger / Trapper / Surveyor (depends on the clans I get and what unknown deposits are around)
Loremaster
Blacksmith
Agriculture
Stone Blocks (either from stone or timber)
Miner
Farmer
Rancher
Watchmen
Logger

After Loremaster, mileage can vary depending on the clans and territory, and how many caravans brought me early food. Stone blocks are the key.

I usually spend the first 4-5 turns researching root level disciplines and using the discipline bonus to get 1-turn trainings so I can put everyone to work ASAP. After that it's usually Loremaster, Archer, Logger, then rush for stone blocks.

I haven’t ever had any trouble using a hunter during the winter to stretch out the food.

Also makes half of the archer/hunter team to take out neutrals and bandits.

After that food isn’t usually a problem with upgraded farmers and a couple of synergy jobs.
