Food is useless, worse, it's irrelevant.
Hi there,
i play few games from the release, i was hoping there will change on that points in the first patch.
Didn't see it coming so i post this for the greater good of the game.

How food is irrelevant/useless:

As i will develop, you will understand that playing without caring about food is greatly simplify the game.

Simply, from "day1" to the end of your game, dont try to product food, on any circonstance.
Just buy it.
You can loose just 1 pts of food every turn (max), and the caravan will pass before you left with no food.
The first time caravan pass, you put all your treasure in food. Then you will have enought food to get to the next passage of the caravan, and you simply put all your gold earning in food from the begining until end game, then you will just sell tools or what ever you don't need, to buy... more minerals or what ever tiers 1 product, transform it, sell it. Then just with caravan selling you got everything you need without really use all the beautiful mechanics implemanted. (and i don't talk about every gold makers that just more simplify the work on this mechanics)

So basically, just by having 1 trader from begining you "win" the game.

You can, for example, now early expend to carpenter and very quickly get gold from "traders" for example or every tiers 1 ressource to sell (just 1 clans to work on it) and you got enought food from caravan till the end.

if you can do something about that, like, don't have a just -1.0 loose of food. (can be a way of regulation) but i think caravan is just like too OP.

Thx for reading.

Does this still work after the v1.0.1 update with the caravan food fix?

Yes this post is outdated. Caravan food now calculates at 1 food = 1 food needed/ day.

It used to calculate at 1 food = 1 turn of food

Doesn’t work effectively past early game now
