No ONLINE Multiplayer.
There is only OFFLINE multiplayer in this game and no ONLINE multiplayer as advertised on the Steam store page.
Great, bought this game for online multiplayer. It's a fun game but I'm not buying anything else from this developer as I hate false advertising.

"Beat your friends in fun four-player local multiplayer!"

It's not false advertising. The above is stated on the store page, and it says nothing about online MP. You failed to read.

It also says 'Multi-player', which in steam always means online multiplayer. It should be called 'Local Multi-Player' or better 'Local Co-op'.

Damn I wish there was multiplayer, are there any plans for mp in the future?

Actually nowhere on steam is it mentioned that multi-player automatically means online, it means what it says on the tin - a game multiple players can play. There are other games with multiplayer meaning splitscreen - another example being the recent D&D side-scrolling beat-em up. (In fact looking at beat-em ups and puzzle games you will find a few multiplayer titles that are local only). You just made an assumption.

Steam does differentiate on CO-OP games most of the time though and there are titles listed as co-op, local co-op or even both together.

Maybe it is valve you should direct your complaint at, maybe its time they split the categories properly and made devs use much more specific choices?

To be honest, valve are not that consistant on this point and if you try an advanced search on category on the store, you can only select co-op and not if it is online or not.

I think in future you need to read the store pages fully or wait and check the forums :happymeat:

Note: I do want them to add online multiplayer, I feel the game would be much better with it.

No it doesn't. Always read the description before you buy something, don't blame the developers for your mistakes.

nope nope nope. Multiplayer just means multiple people can play at the same time and since they said local it is pretty cut-and-dry. Bad assumption to make (Always means online? HA) and this game isn't co-op as it is competitive instead of cooperative.

All of you telling the OP that 'multiplayer' doesn't mean online multiplaer, then why do they have a separate tag for local multiplayer? Fortunately, I got the game for the single player and not the MP, but when there's two tags for multiplayer, consumers should be able to safely assume that if it isn't local, its online.

Thank you Hepatitis Bees, I thought I made that clear but clearly it's hard to read for some people in here.

THEY choose the tag 'MULTIPLAYER' while it should have been 'LOCAL MULTIPLAYER' or 'LOCAL CO-OP'

Then why is their tags for local multiplayer/co-op. HA.

Sorry for trying to inform you guys. My deep regrets for all the persons who are hurt by this.

Read the history part. Amazing, eh?
Jur 24 Jun, 2013 @ 2:46pm
Then why is are there freaking 2 different tags on steam for Local and Online multiplayer? Why? Please explain me that. Besides that do you also see this, 'Non-networked' and 'Networked' aka LOCAL and ONLINE. Amazing, eh?

There's no "local multiplayer" tag, only "local co-op".
Jur 24 Jun, 2013 @ 2:59pm
O yea, ingore the fact I demolished your 'argument'.

I'm pretty sure I have seen the tag, but there is a possiblity it does not exist. If that is the case the game should use 'Local Co-op' as that is normal for split-screen games these days.

I'm also very disapointed in the developers as they haven't even responed in both hubs once.

That would be a lie, false advertising.

Explain.

In every case, such as this one, that didn't have online multiplayer, the description was changed. You can probably ask for a refund (doubt you will get it) and say that the advertisement was misleading. It's ashamed that you can't at least play against bots or something.

Even more annoying is that multiple xbox 360 controllers don't work right now. I'm sure it will be patched soon though.
