I think you should give a try to Jane's Advanced Strike Fighters, it has negative reviews but I enjoyed the game.

I never heard of Jane's, but I will check that out, so thank you. 🙂
If anyone knows any other games, keep em coming.
Thank you everyone.

FreeSpace 2 is basically Ace Combat in space. If you get it, download the Knossos mod installer/launcher to get the SCP version, which has updated graphics and a full conversion of the FreeSpace 1 campaign to the FreeSpace 2 engine. Play the FS1 campaign first, it's very good and will give you important story information for FS2. Knossos will also let you install lots of other popular mods. FS2 is like VT in that it was designed to be modded, so there's a lot of community-made content for it, including a few total conversions.
Wing Commander is also like Ace Combat in space, but it has the additional feature of walking around your carrier between missions and talking to various characters. The gameplay isn't as deep as FS2, though.
Isn't that more of a hardcore sim than an arcade-style game like VT?
