Another chance? Dear Rekoil Team....
Hey guys, and fellow readers, if you look at my catalogue, you know that I LOVE my fps games. Rekoil got my interest long ago, and it was only this year that I decided to go digital, trusting Steam and the people that they allow on here.

NOW I am kind of upset. First I bought the game on XBLIVE, and I hoped to jump in online with the other players and even play with the map editor here on PC.

on the xbox, the servers are dry. no refunds, fine. I'll deal with it. but on PC? I cant even boot up the game, and the map editor,nor steam can find the executable. this is bad. I'm glad that I bought it on sale, though I'm not happy I bought it at all. I was a day one purchaser on the xbox.

Please guys, I just want to play the game, or at least make maps, and try modding the thing for fun.

especially with the unreal engine, there are so many possibilities.

is there a remedy to the situation?

I am being as nice as possible. yes, I tried the troubleshooting tips, but nothing works without an executable file.

you guys have an opportunity to make this right.

I know you've got a point, this game was everything I wanted in an esports game, I really wish the devs didn't just drop it. It looked so promising, they should've just worked out the bugs, maybe have another beta, get some feedback, fix it. Come on devs, please fix the game!

Thanks,Five. I know that this seems like a re-post of the many things people are saying, but your support makes me feel a whole lot better about starting a more up to date thread, and it means a lot. there are far more people that want to play the game than 505 thinks, or just turn over the keys to the people! we can start our own servers and stuff. this game WAS everything a lot of us hoped for, and I was (AM) excited to play this thing with some die hard folks. just need a fix to get started.

thats a great Idea. I kind of thought they would probably read this, but you are right. a more direct approach is needed. we need to ask them how many people need to be interested to make things happen. I feel they might be reasonable, because they arent doing anything with the property... (march 20th was their last post).

The servers on PC are completely dead. The developer just released the source to the game or something like that. They have abandoned this game. It is done. I put a server back online just to see what might happen. Not a single player. Ever.

Game is just dead. Time to move on.

Wow, Tic. I had no Idea. this saddens me, because that means that we are not safe. We are not safe while steam and its third party publishers openly sell a broken game with NO WARNING LABEL. I finally got the game running. Played against one guy. the game crashed. ugh. I fear you are right, as bleak as it is, I still have a little hope. Source code you say? this needs to be big news. thanks for giving it to me straight. BOOO steam! selling broken stuff!! You should not be able to sell a multiplayer game without bots. between Ravaged and this, I have wasted my money twice! thanks once more tictactoe.

Yeah unfortunately Ravaged was another waste of money.

Here is the last response from the dev, and probably the last response we will ever get. Even the official forums are wiped.

Wow, you werent kidding. the way the developer responded looked like his bottom lip was hanging to the floor. thanks tic. you really helped me get the answer. UGH! *shaking fist to the sky*

Go play Insurgency instead. Much better and a lot of people playing.

Well these are two different games, insurgency is more realistic, while Rekoil is more arena like. idk why you brought insurgency in this.

@snakeEyesx80 Lmao! I was thinking about insurgency. but not for the community- modern-run-gun-ragdoll-murder-sim that Rekoil Promised. I'm with Five on this. however, I will look into insurgency... if it proves better than CS:GO. or I will just buy it anyway. I love shooters. I must be the only guy who still lines up to buy the physical media. thanks for the suggestion though.
