Bug fixes
  • Fixed access nones which were occurring when loading up the Loadout panel.
  • Forced friendly fire - We attempted initially to fix friendly fire (to prevent team killing) by providing options in the server configuration files. However it seems for whatever reason the new defaults aren't sticking. Since Rekoil right now is mostly a public game, it probably is best to always prevent team mates from hurting each other.
  • Connecting to servers sometimes boots you back to the lobby - This can happen if the server also happens to shut down then. While it should boot you back to the menu, it is booting you back to the firing range which is incorrect.
  • Fixing Rekondite - Rekondite is meant to be played with only one Rekondite running around. It seems that there can be multiple Rekondites at any given time.
  • Quick switching between weapons - This should be fixed as I was not able to reproduce it anymore. Please report if it is still happening.
  • Player invisibility - I added some additional checks to ensure that the player always has a mesh. We did not see it anymore on play testing, but please report it if it is still happening.
  • Map transition crash - Map transition crashed happened a lot less during play test.
  • Scoreboard lag on open - The image that is loaded on the scoreboard is now always cached in memory. This will be replaced by another system in the future to better support custom maps.

New features
  • Added support for Message Of The Day (MOTD) which is sent from the server to the client. This message is rendered with HTML capabilities to allow for color, font styles and a small subset of other HTML features. Servers can also control the time (in seconds) that the message persists on the client's HUD.
  • Integrating [NFA]Own's configuration - These seem to provide a much better balance with looks and performance for high end machines than the defaults we've provided.
  • Rekoil game version is now advertised - This should help prevent joining servers that aren't the same version after updating.

Bug fixes still under investigation
  • Double weapons in team games - Seems like Jim Sterling still came across this bug in his second video. Again, it seems pretty hard for me to reproduce within the dev environment unfortunately.

Leaderboards?
Leaderboards for the most part worked in this patch but it did not always work 100%. The feature has been pushed to the next patch for now as I did not want to release an additional buggy feature. I also did not want to withhold this patch either, so it has been disabled for now.

Glad to see that not even a day later that after some people brought up concerns about the game that your giving it the proper attention. These are the type of developers that all games (that show any promise) need.

Did you fix frame rate problems? I'm still getting 30 too 4 frames per second on the lowest settings.

Great work on the updates! Nice to see a dev working with the community to make an awesome gaming experience! Looking forward to hear new features in the future controller support :D No biggie either way, you have your hands full, and kickin bug butt!
