This game is absolutely superb
I wanted to feed back how impressed I am with this unsung gem of a game, or rather simulation because that is how it feels. I haven't played a game this immersive and rewarding for a very long time. I love the details too, things like standing in the shade during a solar event, the health monitor indicating rads, the really well thought out chemistry implementation. In all honesty Im struggling to think of a weak link in the entire underlying mechanics of the game, and the storyline has me on Mars. Im there, fully immersed.

I understand that time moves on, real life kicks in. Im a 50 year old dad with all the responsibilities that go with that so I do understand. This game though is wonderful. It deserves to be right up there with the very best survival/space simulation games.

For anyone who stumbles across this thread and thinking of getting it, do so. Then give it time to get under your skin. Follow the modding guides. Then do the tutorials. Ive lost count of the number of times Ive been in my Mars character wishing I could remember an element of the knowledge that is there to unpack in those lessons.

Thats all. I'd better go downstairs and see if the family recognise me.

Hello! Thank you so much for your kind words! Indeed has been very long since I worked on this but I am happy it still gives people joy. I made a ton of mistakes while developing it but I think I also got a lot right, so it is heartwarming seeing people still enjoy it, despite its age.

Anyways, I better go back to finishing Silica, but I still hope to one day make another instalment to this, learning from the mistakes and just doing everything better.

Take care and kind regards,

You can play TKOM any way you want and I agree however I worked several months to make a mod that better describes the building materials and bio growth to so survive more realistically. I also created a scenario that better depicts the real life resource extraction rates albeit at higher rate but still proportionally correct; that coupled with my Resource mod makes TKOM very realistic for me.

I dont use other total revamped TKOM mods and no one to my knowledge is keeping their mods updated, even me; mine are done for the most part.

I am trying to play my mod from scratch now that I discovered the non-helmet-jittering 2D GUI ... GL.
