My Xbox 0ne controller will only show button presses

When I try to move around with the controller it doesn't work, it is set preferred joystick yes. The buttons work fine and I can use the left joystick to move through the menus but not move my character. If I do get this working will it allow me to drive the vehicles easier?

Have you checked View->Settings->Controller in the Steam window and tried configuring the keys in-game? Should be in the options menu from the main menu if doing so from in-game.

There are some controller related posts if you search for 'gamepad' in the forums.
