Drilling not working in mission 6?
I'm having a trouble with drilling the Mars rock in the Mission 6: Great Escape. I have a drill connected to power and it looks like it's working (the drill is rotating and making a dust) but there is no drilled rock in the container. Do you have any idea what's wrong?

Have you taken rock samples and tested them? Maybe you are in an area with very little rock though I think you should get some even if just a little

Are you sure it's an empty barrel?

Sorry if neither of those helps, just thoughts

Can you post a screenshot using 'F12' or a capture program like OBS? Then post it here or on a sharing image site. If we could 'see' the issue we could help figure it out.

- It might take some time for the barrel to fill up.

- Can you hear the drill running? (Options menu - Sound - Realistic Sounds to Off, Otherwise you won't)

- Does the machine display have any information? Does it say 'Wrong Surface', 'Barrel Full', No Barrel, ?

Going thru the same problem....

Turns out you need more power.

CLICK the MAP .... Zoom in, then you can click resources at top right of map. Click a square on the map.. and you will see how much Mars Rock is in each square.

WHen you get the drill into an area where there is a lot... Then you got to drag the two MRTG (power thingies) over to it.. Make sure TWO cords are attached to each of them. Then if you made a little power box plug the power into that (4 cords) and the final cord going out to the Drill.

It'll start working then! Each of those MRTG thingies have two batteries they take turns recharging.

Its easier to drag them over with the cords.. I carried the power splitter box while driving the buggy.. cord trailing behind as I held it LOL...

Now that was my last two power mrtgs and last of the cords and box. So now Im wondering if this is the same map as the the crash site... if so... Im fixin to load up that buggy with methane and o2 and save it.. then drive like mad to the west to get my damn truck. Load THAT up with the other power mrtg AND those wonderful cords.. and as many resources as I can get my pestyh hands on.

I tried stuffing all that stuff into my Lab thingy... but I guess the game is scripted to give you a fresh one and it deleted the entire inventory. I even had the mrtg ON the roof! LOL

I was determined to get something there... If its the same map... and that crash site is still there.. I'll let you know. Otherwise I'll probably die from lack of air or water. LOL

All of the machines should run fine with just one source of power attached to them, they will just shut down for a few seconds or a minute as they recharge and then do another cycle, recharging in between, they should not need 2 cords plugged in for them to work. I rarely have more than one cord running to a MMRTG or solar panel unless two machines are plugged in to it but that is only temporary, they don't have the power to continuously run two machines

To see the resources in the map view you will need to take samples first and then anilize them on your lab table before you will be able to see what resources are available in each square. You don't need power to your communications but it helps pinpoint where you are and what sector you are in, you can also take a sample and examine it with right click and it will tell you what sector it's from too.

I've never had stuff loaded into the MLV vanish, when playing some of the campaigns you will start with the MLV filled with containers and boxes which is a pain to get them all outside again, never had them vanish from the top either, they're meant to be up there, that's why you have a crane on the MLV
@ALL

Take the two MMRTGs and run cable from both into a socket hub then run one cable from the socket hub to your drill. This will provide more power and prevent the whole turning off/on process.

This is happening because you don't have enough power stored up. You should be running more then one MMRTG or Solar so you avoid this problem altogether. Otherwise it will take ages to collect the rock or other resource.

I know why it's happening, that's pretty obvious, I was just stating that machines run fine with one power source so the barrels not filling up for the OP is not because his machines do not have enough power, they will still fill up, just slowly

And if you are only using two MMRTG or solar then do not need to use the socket hub as it just costs you an extra cable, just plug them both in directly, socket hub is only needed when connecting more than 2 things since machines only have 2 plugs

Thank you all for tips. Moving the driller to another area helped.
