Attention: disable mods with the latest version.
If you are unable to launch the game due to crashes, make sure to disable all mods. Many mods may no longer work with the latest version of the game unless they are upgraded.

To remove any mods causing problems follow these instructions.

1. Unsubscribe to any mods in the workshop

You can do so here

2. If you are still having issues, go to your install folder and remove the mods manually generally located at
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Men of War Assault Squad 2\mods



You can also revert to the old version by going to your Steam library -> right mouse click on AS2 -> properties -> betas -> previous_version


If you are experiencing freezes in the main menu, please update your graphics card drivers or disable Steam Overlay.

To do so, go to your Steam Library, select men of war as2, right click and select properties, uncheck the steam overlay box.

If you are unable to get your game to run, try out the safe mode in the launch options of Steam.

If you are still encountering issues, update your video card drivers. Your GPU must support DX10.1 in order to run the game properly.

If you have a black screen and you are running FRAPS, please disable FRAPS.

We'll post them in a few days, we expect to do some hotfixes before the launch of the DLC.

Multiplayer maps should work, in most instances singleplayer too. Mods that alter gamefiles will likely not, as well as savegames.

yea was just wondering the same thing? i actully thought they gave up on this game to buisy with the new project,its been months and half the mods no longer work anymore prior to this update,will have to see sup,alot of mates have abandond this game including some mods so this is interesting,well ill say thanks devs for atleast one more patch before you move on :(

Older mods that that save custom vitality stats for soldiers or use custom breeds will have to be upgraded and its quite simple, as for more extensive mods that modify various game files the modders may have to see if they were updated between last and new patch and then see what has to be done.

For folks who play large mods that are not updated to work with new version yet have an option for the time being to downgrade their game on steam to previous patch if needed:

Right click on mowas 2 in library select properties then betas tab and you can select to downgrade to previous version.
