I don't even like the idea. If they even consider it, it needs to be an optional checkbox.
One thing I noticed immediately when I first started playing SE is the way the mouse control works gives you enough feedback that it's almost driving a car that has good road-feel.
If you're lifting the mouse and swiping fast, you're completely ignoring what the game is telling you, just like giving an engine full throttle when it's already bogging, or turning the wheel farther when you're already understeering.
Slow your mouse movement to that which is synchronized with the movement of the ship.
When you do this, you can quickly develop a feel the mass of the ship change when you're mining, for example.
The way they're doing it in SE2 makes it *less* immersive, not more.
