SNOW
Rollbacks to previous versions.
Im using SteamDB and the console to attempt to download previous versions that make the game playable again.

It is possible to do a lot of the time. I'm still searching for the correct Manifests to see which download will fix it. I had the idea after I remembered reading somewhere about being able to downgrade games through steams console.

Here is a link to the guide I'm using should you feel the urge to try it.
I don't expect to be able to restore it to its full glory, but who knows?

Sorry. I've had a dabble. Not had a lot of luck. But that's mainly because of the huge amount of stuff to dig through. Admittedly, I've not spent a great deal of time looking. I did get a couple of versions working. Although broken, they were definitely earlier builds. It seems to be a case of just finding and installing the right one.

I think ultimately possible though.

I tested version 0.9.1.0 from 23 August 2017.
I needed to download binary, levels, game content from the Steam Console and combined them together. Then when starting the playSnow.exe I could load a map by pressing ~ and entering "map <mapname>".

With "map <mapname> s" you could host a game back in the day. But that sadly doesnt work for me in this version.

You can play the latest version with the dll hack mentioned here in the board. But I hoped to be able to host a multiplayer game somehow.

Maybe if we could hack a way to open the console in the newest version that works with the dll? But I think they patched out the server functionality at some point.

I tried Version 0.7.0.0 from 28. Januar 2016.
Anoyingly Steam wants to force an update for me everytime.
And I needed to create .smlinks so steam can find the old .exe in the current loacation.

BUT it kinda works! I can open a Server with "~" look at which port it will open with "sv_port" and finally open it with "map Sialia s".
Havent tested if others can join. In theory they should be able by entering "connect <ip>:<port>".

However in both versions I tested so far, the right spawn points were missing and in this verdion my character crashes instantly, after multiple respawns the game realizes there is no backend connection and forces me to quit.

What versions have you tested?

I got the console open on the latest version with the dll but I don't know enough about this type of thing to go further... the command <map sialia s> gives an infinite loading loop and very rarely I will get the error in the console saying "[curl] failed curl request type 1 with user data 0000000000000004!" which could point to why it crashes but idk. Also using the "connect" command crashes the game.
