No. It still helps to "explore" when going through a level, but only because there are frequent points of no return, and anything you haven't picked up has to wait until you replay the level.

Ok. But from your post it seems that there are some rewards for exploring the levels. Like secret rooms in Doom for example with hidden ammo/health and so on. I really like postapo setting so I guess Im gonna buy the game anyway :)

it's more like a few resources (it's been a while so I'm not exactly sure what you're collecting -- currency, ammo or something like that) that aren't exactly on the path you are walking on. You are not "on rails", but I wouldn't really call it "exploring".

And yes, in my opinion, getting it is not a bad idea at all, especially on that sale. I don't know Doom, but I don't remember hidden rooms or something like that in here; it's more like that if you move past a rock, you might want to look behind that rock just in case there is another glowy thingy for you to pick up. I might not remember what the glowy thingies are used for, but like in all games, it's beneficial to pick them up :-)

The game is very linear and if you don't explore you'll miss special items required for achievements. Exploring is not necessary to enjoy this game whatsoever. GREAT GAME by the way.
