Thus, my IDEA would be to disable Steam Cloud in the Steam properties for this game, THEN delete the saves. When you have new saves, enabling Steam Cloud again SHOULD make Steam detect a conflict and cause it to ask you whether it should use the saves on your box, or the ones on its servers. Select the ones on your box and it should trash your old saves for good.

It turns out, the save file for the game is located in: Steam\userdata\[steam-user-UID]\245280\remote
The steam user UID is just a number, and there is prabably only one folder in the user/data-folder.
245280 is the ID for the game.
