4K Upscaling?
Anyone know how to upscale past 1920x1080? I've played Bioshock Infinite and other UE3 games upscaled to 3200x1800 or 3840x2160. Usually these resolutions just show up in the options, but I can't figure out how to get Enslaved to do this. I tried editing the BaseEngine.ini file.

Anyone? I also want to play it in 4K and there are videos and screenshots of people doing it. But changing the ini just doesn't work for me.

If you set your desktop resolution to 4K and launch the game, it should run in that res. Worked for me anyway.

I know this thread is very old, but I searched for this problem too and this was the first hit on google - unfortunately without a solution. Try this:

Open

C:\Users\[USERNAME]\Documents\my games\UnrealEngine3\MonkeyGame\Config\MonkeyGame.ini

and add the line

m_ResolutionValues=3840x2160

under the [MonkeyGame.MKGamerProfile] section. Now you're able to pick the resolution ingame, without changing your desktop resolution.

To improve the image quality significantly without using downsampling/DSR Since ENSLAVED: Odyssey to the West is a DX9 game means you can use a wide assortment of AA solutions via NVIDIA Inspector (I'm not familiar with AMD, sorry)

Here's all the information you will need -

1.) https://forums.guru3d.com/threads/nvidia-anti-aliasing-guide-updated.357956/
Here's a great source if you're looking to improve visual fidelity for older titles.

2.) https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ekUZsK2YXgd5XjjH1M7QkHIQgKO_i4bHCUdPeAd6OCo/pub?output=html
(Scroll down until you find ENSLAVED for the relevant info.)

Personally I like using SGSSAA (Sparse Grid Supersampling) it is imho one of the best AA solutions out there, and it's a shame that's incompatible with most modern games (AFAIK). It will work with any DX9 game however.

Here's some additional information on SGSSAA if you're interested:

Another great resource for PC gaming that I highly recommend is PCgamingwiki - https://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Enslaved:_Odyssey_to_the_West

Changing the ini file didn't work for me, neither did launching the game from a 4k monitor. My game is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ cursed, 1080p just doesn't cut it anymore.

Found a solution, the secret was to add the line instead of modifying one of the pre-existing ones. I think this was mentioned in the thread, so if someone has the same problem in the future, there it goes.

Also, 4k didn't do any miracles considering this game's old textures. A lot of trouble for a relatively low reward.

I will write down what I did for the next person as this was all new for me.
downloaded Nvidia Profile Inspector from https://github.com/Orbmu2k/nvidiaProfileInspector/releases (the latest)
then after unzipping and starting it I choose Enslaved in the profiles
then checked what flag I needed in your step 2 sheet(for me 0x000000C1)
then checked:
https://forums.guru3d.com/threads/nvidia-anti-aliasing-guide-updated.357956/
where to fill in the code(code=flag as far as I understood)/what else to change and tried 32x CSAA as I could not find SGSSAA in the antialiasing settings.
then clicked apply changes.
screenshot of my settings: https://prnt.sc/bAWe0YOJPvtY

if you have weird shadow/light lines on the characters check out
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/app/245280/discussions/0/630800443723006141/
on how to fix it.( haven't found perfect settings but this is the best one for me)
