How is it on Steam Deck?
Anyone got it working on Steam Deck?

I had to emulate the switch version, this game is totally broken

The game never even ran on my Windows PC when it was new. Good luck on Deck lol.

People on ProtonDB say it will run on an older version of Proton after a copious amount of adjustments. Trying to figure out if it's worth trying within the refund window

The game is great but I honestly can't recommend buying the PC version, and I still hope that maybe some day the publisher/developer fixes the port.

  • It does not work on Steam Deck or Linux out of the box. You can technically make it work with an older Proton version. But it is not as simple as just selecting an old version, it requires many other tweaks on top of that to make it run as well (poor) as it does on Windows.
  • Game does not work out of the box on Windows either on most new systems and needs workarounds
  • The quality of the port is really poor, it looks and plays worse than the console versions.
  • There are bugs that never have been fixed. One that is game breaking and can occur later in the game (past your refund window)

Got it running just fine using the guide on steamdb.
Only thing I had to do was to install it on the internal drive. It's not Linux's fault, it's a bad PC port.

Worked OK on steam deck? Could you link or copy / paste the guide you used to get it working please?

The guide by DenZ-666.

It runs well so far, but I'm not too far into the game. But I expect it to run just as you'd expect from it. It hasn't had a very consistent performance on any platform.

is it just me or is it somehow harder to launch games that are older then new games it feels like the older games are just not gonna start and also that it feels like we are the ones who need to fix it even if we paid for it

This game is a royal pain to work on Steam Deck. Spent the better part of two hours tweaking with DenZ's guide. (Cheers for that, mostly straight forward.) I can get to the true main menu now on the Steam Deck without crashing. But I cannot get the Steam Deck or any controllers to interact with the game, only a USB keyboard. And I cannot play games with keyboard controls. Looking into controller solutions for this game now.

I mapped the keyboard keys to my controller in Steam Input, in the game menu you can also remap the keyboard keys to match the letters on the buttons so X, Y and B show the correct letters, only A doesn't work because you can't change WASD.
