HTML5 exporter, run app locally
Is there any way to run HTML5 builds made with CTF 2.5 locally?
It says I only can upload it on a server. But I need to run it locally (on mobile devices).

I thought I would be able to run HTML5 app locally on mobile devices. But it needs a server. I tried different options of exporting, but it didn't work.

instead of just buidling it, go to Run/Build and Run or CTRL F8

Okay. I tried and it worked out.
But what if I want to run the app on a mobile device (smartphone). Is there any way to do that?
Or the only way is to buy extension for IOS and Android?

ok I am not too smart on HTML5 but...

Couldnt you load it to some free website host, and have your mobile device access that website domain?

Yes, I can. And it's the best way of doing that.
But my goal is to allow users to download HTML5 app and then run it locally on the devices. :)
I know it may be odd a bit, but I really need that. I made some quizes with another software and export them in HTML5 and can run them locally.
CTF 2.5. gives a lot of varieties of interactivities and gives more freedom. Not only quizes, but also interactive games and stuff.

That's why I ask and try to export and run app's locally. :)

Not sure HTML5 can be handled the way you want it (but hey, I can be proven wrong)

If you want them to have an app on a mobile device, you will more likely than not have to get the iOS or Android extension.

But... I will let kisguri answer as he would be best to know if it is even possible

-------------

so side note

I can write HTML in a notepad and open it up locally on my machine by changing the extensions without ever having to access the internet.

Note sure how mobile devices OS work... but maybe there is a roundabout way similar to the notepad thing.

Might want to just do a search on that on google.

Thank you for the explanation.

Yes, yes, same here. I can open some HTML5 files on my PC. For example I bought some pixel art guides, which were made in HTML5 (with some HTML5 videos and small interactivities), and also was able to open them locally.

So, I thought I could make the same in my case. "Build and run" works perfectly, but only in CTF 2.5. For me it's important to let users run it locally without any additional software, and I thought HTML5 suits my goals.

But thank you for your reply again, I also will try to google on that topic again.

look up "Apache Cordova"

Not sure how you can integrate it with Fusion 2.5 (Might have to take Fusion 2.5 source code and integrate it with Apache Cordova... you might not be able to even get the source code, not sure how HTML5 exporter works, I dont have it)

Didn't see an extension for it either

There is Visual Studio Tools for Apache Cordova

But read your HTML5 agreement with Fusion 2.5

I dont have it, so I dont know but...

-----------

iOS says this:
GRANT
2.3 The Licensor allows the Licensee to modify the Source Code of the Project before compiling the Application.

2.4 The Licensee shall not use the Source Code, in whole or in part, in programs other than the ones created with Clickteam Fusion 2.5.

------------

Android doesnt have that in the GRANT

------------

These are only ideas... I didnt really research this enough... I really have no clue

Found some Cordova Topics on the Fusion 2.5 forums:

This Topic looked promising:

Remember, Phone Gap = Cordova

Oh! Thank you very much for investing your time in it.
I was just exploring Phone Gap website at the moment I saw your post. I think it might be something I was looking for.
And thank you for links to Fusin community.

Just in case you're still looking into this. Chrome browser Android doesn't like to read locally saved web file. I used Firefox to read the files instead.

Using whatever android File Explorer go to your web file (htm etc...) And open with Firefox.

You have de associate the file types from a default browser
