Think hard about what you're doing to make the cage start lifting. Is there anything else involved in the cage-lifting stuff that has a delay in it ?

Alternatively, is there anything you could do to make getting into the cage faster ?

Thanks again for at least offering advice. I have watched the guides and know the correct moves but for me, unfortunately, I don't have the manual dexterity to accomplish the climb and entry in 8 seconds which is all the game is allowing.

if youre open to it, you can fly up where the crane takes you using cheats. Open the console, type "sv_cheats 1" Press Enter, then enter the command "noclip". Once youre up top, type "noclip" into the console again. Make sure to save at that point and completely restart the game so as to not disable achievements.

All right, I have to admit that I too did it this way (noclip to fly to the upper level).

The delay is very short indeed, and you don't just need dexterity, because each climb is made at the game's own pace, and you can't control their speed (you endure it, cursing the time you're losing).

Thanks to both or you for the information and support. I have to commend the developers for an excellent game but it does have a level of difficulty that at some points can't be overcome by many of us gamers.
