I just got this game, and every time I try to start it, this error message comes up. I've tried with a fresh restart and disabling the virus protection, but I still can't start the game. Steam also gets messed up, the resolution gets super low and a quarter of the library page takes up the whole screen, and then it crashes when I dismiss the error warning.
