Softlocked the game?
I'm in the underground water treatment plant and have been stuck for hours. I finally gave and looked for a walkthrough. Apparently there was a key in one of the toilets in the lower office level. I went back there only to find there was nothing. I think I may have flushed that toilet before opening the lid. None of my saves go before that point. I can't reload the chapter. Have I broken the game?

Those keys are not required for progression. Have you disabled the fire alarm already, and obtained the other key card?

Did both those things. I ended up looking at a walkthrough because I was misunderstanding the paper that dictated how the water was supposed to flow through the plant. The one thing that I wasn't able to piece together was how I was supposed to open the sewer pipes in order to progress. Was there a hint somewhere that I missed that was supposed to have nudged me towards doing that?

To anyone who thinks they've softlocked themselves by doing all of the following:

- Flushed the orange keycard inside the toilet.
- Disabled the fire alarm.
- Closed all emergency exit doors, which cannot be opened again without either the orange keycard or the fire alarm on.

The solution is to turn the fire alarm on again. There's a lever to do so inside the offices building, where you're trapped; it's not particularly hidden.
