Does this game still work,

I know ACE or some modders took over when the Developers gave up on it. Where does it currently stand in terms of playability?

It's a really good game but make sure you get the ACE community mod.

Personally, I can't play the game at all. It's either stuck in loading screen or just plain crashes while playing.

It's enjoyable but at the late game it starts to bug, for example hearthlings are not working and just being idle.
