How do you increast you health and armor?
The game doesn't explain a few things such as this for example. I've managed to increase it once but don't know what I did. I searced the forums and can't find anything.

There are some max. health/armor pickups that are usually found in secret areas. A good example is in Metroplex after the miniboss. There's a little lava pit you can jump over that has a max. health bonus.
