Anyone understand how to "enable/activate" high res texture pack?
Anyone understand how the "High res texture pack" works? I downloaded it, but it shows in my DLC menu as:

GRID Autosport - Black Edition Pack : Installed
GRID Autosport - High res texture pack : Not installed

I changed all options to ultra in game... but not sure if it's actually active or not...?

that's all you need to do. Just install the pack and max the game. It looks better than vanilla.

On the description it says to pu the game on high settings... They don't mention ultra

Sorry, I meant textures are "high"... I used the ultra preset :)

I guess it is working, would be nice to have a clearer confirmation :) Games works very well in terms of optimisation though

is this post supposed to be saying anything at all? it doesnt say how much you got before with the benchmark and the high res texture pack is only for the cars to begin with so the only setting that counts is Texture quality: High. and MAYBE Vehicle details: Ultra.

also everyones results WILL vary a LOT because of different hardware.

Do you not get screen tearing running at such an odd FPS?

not that ive noticed. the only time ive noticed screen tearing in this game is when i have too many options enabled and it dips below 60.

The thing is, you have got to download them first, klick on you game "Grid Autosport", go to DLC and then there is the FREE HIGH RESS TEXTURE PACKAGE =) , that you will have to download

Interesting... it seems I *did not* have high res pack enabled. The game appears in my list as ready to play, but in DLC menu says "not installed".

When I went to download manager, I see it is downloading 4.3gb of new data... which is I assume the high res texture pack. The game in my menu appears white (as opposed to yellow when updating), so not particularly clear...

I had ro shutdown steam completely, then restart and it started downloading 4.3gb :D

Some confusion though, do you have to select high or ultra settings? I can't really see any difference....

Yeah, I didn't realise it was downloading at all until I saw the "download" meter at the bottom of the screen.

I believe the relevent setting is "texture quality" which only goes up to "high"... it's not possible to select "ultra".

I just tried it out and there was no notieable effect on FPS.

I had to go into the DLC overview and uncheck the install mark and then check it again before it even started downloading the pack.
