Suddenly clicks stop working

So I got as far as talking to the wife but right after the big dude got himself hauled away I could no longer choose any of the conversation options.

The cursor still moves, animation and music keep going but nothing else works. Clicking or pressing escape does nothing. Had to tab out of the game to close it.

No solution to be found through google or the official forum and looks like the devs don't bother to respond on these forums.

I've seen a few others posting with the same issue, and if any of you are reading this I want to ask you if the game is worth crawling through saving manually every 2 mins or should I just give up now and go for a refund?

The game seems like it might have some charm but I'm leaning toward refunding it because to be honest I think the devs attitude to tech support sucks. I don't want to make yet another profile on yet another forum. Perhaps this is an entitled opinion but I think if you sell it on steam then you should offer some support through steam.

Besides, having browsed that forum and seeing no solution offered I have to imagine there isn't one. They are obviously aware of the issue so I find it hard to believe they would keep it to themselves until they recieve an email from each affected user rather than posting the solution in public.

So has anyone else out there been through this and feel like gritting ones teeth and bearing it to get to the end was worth it?

As you may have probably seen in another topic, I have a similar issue. Even animations and cursor are not visible with my issue.
I'm wondering if the game recently got an update or not, because I have finished this game completely two times and never had this kind of problem. To be honest, I hadn't seen any bug in these playthroughs.

The third game - which I started months later, in order to get the missed achievements - was completely ruined for me at the end of the game due to this issue.

To answer your question; this game is very enjoyable but not great. The ending(s) are okay, but if you have to manually save every two minutes in order to not loose any progress.. no. Just get a refund. Restarting the game is a huge pain in the behind in my opinion.

But, I think you could play the game without worrying about the save files and save the game once in a while. (Since I never really had a problem with the game, and the non-responsiveness seems very rare). If for whatever reason, you are still presented with a surprise multiple legit save files are easily found on a Google Drive account with a simple Google search. ;-) Unfortunately, I don't think these save files will help you get all achievements.

Hopefully, this answer has helped you a bit with your decision and I hope the developers take some time to respond to the issues customers have with their product..

I think I'll give it another try today and just try to save often enough that if it happens again I won't lose too much progress and if I forget it's good to know there are save files out there, Am not really bothered about achievements so no worries there.
