I hope they keep doing prequels and never show Mental. I think its funny.
What if they do a sequel, show Mental at the end, then when the credits roll, its revealed the whole game was just a dream, and its the day Sam wakes up to start SS4. I think it would fit in with the humor of the series.
Google up - Is Serious Sam 2 canon?
It's not making things up. Developers themself accepted it is not canon but a separate spin off. They intended to remake it close to orginal encounters look but seems dropped idea. It follows X Box cartoony version considered a separate continuity or timeline. Even Next Encounter is not canon.
Siberian Mayhem is also not canon to SS4 it's 1 of many existing timelines older bearded Sam has seen from future.
