Suddenly can't launch on Linux
Lenovo Legion, set to hybrid graphics mode running Pop!_OS.
I had been playing for some weeks now, and suddenly I can't launch the game.

I have verified the install several times.

any error messages? is that a laptop? was there an update in the meantime? you problably should post your log, but I can't help because I'm shutting down now.

I had been using Steam flatpak.
After installing steam via apt, it is launching again.

Same here, can not run it anymore. I get the following crash error in konsole:

I too am getting this, on a fully up to date Arch install. Ryzen 9 7950X3D + Radeon RX 7900 XTX. Tried dropping down from 3840x2160@240 to 1920x1080@60, switching off HDR, etc. No difference.

Fortunately, the [previousversion] beta branch works.

However, it's unfortunate that 7+Gb had to be downloaded again, and that branch was quite slow to download compared to the non-beta version. Hopefully it's something that Croteam can sort out.

Thanks for the tip. Yeah this worked for me too, reverting to previousversion. Although it also deleted my savegames or something and can only start a completely new game from the start. I hope this did not reset my progress and I can get it back. Reallz hope Croteam fixes this properly.

i have the same issue, downloading previous version now. I was just playing two days ago. Im not on linux either..windows? ...

that didnt work..im gonna reinstall regular version now..

I’m having the exact same problem right now on Linux with Nvidia. Strangely the game WILL start with Steam offline, but that’s a pretty inconvenient way to play

Where are the devs? They don’t reply to anything on here and their support@croteam.com email doesn’t exist… it’s disheartening.

I've been playing this game for this last few days and I haven't encountered any issue in the Linux version so far, except for the game sometimes not closing properly, but I don't have that issue anymore.

I'm running Kubuntu 24.04 in Xorg with kernel 6.8.0-49-generic (official Ubuntu kernel) and Nvidia open driver 560.35.03. My CPU is a Ryzen 5 3400G and my GPU is a GeForce RTX 3050 (6 GB version).

Also, I'm not using any beta branch or specific compatibility tool, it was install and play for me.

I wonder if it's kernel or driver related. Other possibility would be conflicts with a newer libc version.
