is there only one intended solution to each room?
In the map "Higher Ground", for the 2nd last gate I placed a jammer right in front of it to open it, then went through it and picked up that same jammer from the other side and was somehow able to pull it through just as it closed, then I could carry the jammer all the way to the final door. I thought it felt wrong and looked up the solution afterwards and the intended solution was all different, you're not supposed to bring the jammer to the last gate. Did I unknowingly use an exploit or is it common for rooms to have multiple solutions?

It is common for rooms to have multiple solutions, to do things in another order, use different tools or other ways to use tools
There is no "supposed to" or "not supposed to" Any way you can do it is legit.

Yeah I was just wondering because I tried to replicate this: bringing a jammer through the gate its jamming and I can't do it again, when I try picking it up from the other side my character automaticallly walks to the side where the jammer is and then picks it up. So yeah I understand there's no "supposed or not supposed" but it seems by the game's rules you're not supposed to bring a jammer through the door it's jamming. It only worked that one time, maybe it was a bug.

You can bring a jammer through the gate while it is jamming that gate by placing the jammer on a box that's on a fan, turn the fan on and walk over or jump on that fan while holding a platform then that box with the jammer is on the platform then you can walk through that gate
