Tremere backstory Affinity for magic
hello so in short
this backstory state i can easier advance thaumaturgy
but i gain LESS EXPERIENCE

and here we are
i can't get any basic info from backstory HOW MUCH LESS and HOW EASIER
but i open character sheet once i finished creator and i see
Easier means its 4/5 of original cost 20% easier

However i still don't know HOW MUCH LESS EXPERIENCE i gonna get
i also tried to open wiki...
https://vtmb.fandom.com/wiki/Character_Sheet#Affinity_for_Magic
i think EVERY SINGLE tremere backstory makes you weaker xD
(this would explain why it is not explored in wiki)
i will just take none, but idk how much less experience is less experience....
is that 10% less experience? or for every 6 points i get 5 only?
why it can't state openly how much it wanna steal frome me?

Not sure though, I don't play much with historiesy most of them don't seem worth it unless you want an alternative skill start...

But those gain something lose something histories are supposed to be harder, like Challenge runs, I don't think they're supposed to be in your favor or balanced.

Edit:

Yup, I was right.

Every time you get 3+ xp at once, you get one less xp, so not 4+, it's 3+.

Glad i could help! :)
Well, there is a similar History for them, which gives you one point extra Thaumathurgy from the start, the advance is the same (except the extra level only counts in the effects, not in the price, so to fully upgrade, you would only need to level up Thaumaturgy to it's level 4 - it has the indicator of extra "blue node") - Eldritch Prodigy. I have no idea, why they made for this History a near exact duplication...

Also, for the Tremere almost all History is a downgrade on the long run... The "swap talent/skill distribution" ones are still work as an equivalent exchange, but for example the Eerie Presence's "Cost less XP to raise your Mental stats" would equal with the "Cost more XP to raise your Social stats" - yet they dropped in an extra "Cost more XP to raise your Stealth" too. Deceptive Strength is maybe the only non-swap based History, which can work, but it's still a Discipline-heavy, more close-combat oriented build, for an originally spellcaster-type character - as those features suffer from it the most, what could improve your non-magical ranged attacks. I know, that your Dexterity wouldn't lose a lot, as they couldn't raise any of their physical attributes above four anyway, and the doubled amount of Blood Buff negates that, but otherwise it's a self-imposed disadvantage on your character as, just like the Thaumaturgy, it can cost a lot of blood during a longer fight, where the enemy is a mainly ranged boss...

it was 3 years ago

now you are talking to adept min-maxer who knows this game in and out
just take Highway Drifter or deceptive strength
Frenzy is a buff
Humanity is useless
you use bloodbuff or funny spell in every combat
