Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines

FPS Gradually Drops while in Santa Monica Beach/Pier
So I am playing on Steam Deck with proton GE 9-22 and the game runs flawlessly until I gt to Santa Monica. Its odd as the game will run at a rock solid FPS but gradually loose fps over time until it gets so bad that it goes into 15-20 fps but then stays at that framerate until I move to a different part of the area then it goes back up to 60 and repeats the process. Is this a memory leak? A bug? Is it fixable? Anyone else encountered this? For the Record, i am playing with the unofficial patch and Clan Quest Mod

Similar thing happened to me when entering Vesuvius. Everything was fine except that place which was almost unplayable.

Turns out there was an animation bug that was starting and stopping 10 times a second or something. Then wesp5 fixed it in the next patch.

Open the console, maybe you'll see some messages. If the messages spam a lot, there's your answer. But if that's the case, there's nothing you can do. If it's not blocking progress, just tough it out and power through. There's only like 2 things you need to do at the pier, none of which involve combat.

The rain particles in SM are known to slow the game down, but you can disable them.

You would need to convince the creator of the CQM to come back to Bloodlines modding.

Understandable. I've noticed for some reason the bug seems to happen randomly, as Vepar stated prior it is liable to power through it however. Strange nonetheless.
