I bought it a year ago. I have reinstalled it and search for a solution. Hopefully it works
it should be in
Programms > Steam > steamapps > common > KillerIsDead > Binaries > Win32
then right click Kidgame.exe
properties
compatibility (next to general tab)
run compatibility troubleshooter
troubleshoot program
check the program worked...
check the program opens...
check the program requires....
then apply those settings.
I have applied that method. When running the game I got this window:

Hopefully this helps get a little closer to getting the game working. Thanks for your generosity

I tried a solution on my previous playthrough, but it seems the only definitive solution was to delete my previous playthrough.
I kept going. It finally crashed when I did a Gigolo mission and cancelled it. When I re-launched the game it crashed. When I tried to run it again it crashed again.
I had backed up my saves every time I completed a mission. The first thing I did was delete the last save, which gets the game working again. But then when I grafted the save I had saved... the error appears.
Is it possible that the game is unable to be played again after a playthrough has crashed?
Something I don't know if anyone else is experiencing is that at certain times the audio makes a loud beeping sound.
