In your KidEngine.ini, please try changing the XAudio2 section to the following and report back if it helps. It might well not, but it's fixed a lot of issues here.

I'm not sure if you really need this commandline, but after I altered the XAudio2 section in my KidEngine.ini, the "game crashing in cutscenes" issue was fixed here, in my notebook.
Copy it in the game directory
Note:Make a backup of your own files
