Ah well, guess I see if it gets fixed in the next few days, otherwise I will get it refunded!

I just tried to launch the game with my Internet connection disabled, and it passes the loading screen (it doesn't try to connect to the server). I didn't try to play any level so I'm still not sure if the progress is going to be saved properly, but at least that's fine by me until they re-enable the server.
I post this here in case this works for someone else until the problem is solved.

Up and running again. Server likes to go down when it's not invited to the office party.
