They gave up the niche hardcore simulation aspect of the game with Snowrunner to make it more accessible and attract more players. Which I would argue has been of doubtful effect, Snowrunner physics aren't easier, they're just plain worse.
They could have kept caring for the Mudrunner custom engine, upgrading it to modern standards and delivering a true in-depth simulated experience for the people who wanted it, that's exactly what SCS has been doing for well over a decade with ETS. Instead they went for a mainstream product on an engine they already owned but which was absolutely not ready to handle such a game. But at least it runs on console amirite.
It's a HUGE step backward...
Like if nowadays common players are plain stup** humans not able to deal with game's mechanisms.
