Missing alien arches with the xbox application (MS store?)
We have a few reports about an issue on the build if downloaded from the xbox app.

I'd like to do some investigation.

The issue: some alien arches are missing, especially the one near the QEP underwater and the one in the very late game, in the aquarium.

Where do you have your game installed? C:\XboxGames?

Thanks.

I'm having that exact issue, my game is located at

(C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\UnknownWorldsEntertainmen.GAMEPREVIEWSubnautica_1.21.5577.0_x64__bh1f6rvenfkm2)

I arrived at the sea emperor it went through the dialog and I put the ion cube in the terminal, it blew away the sand to reveal nothing, I've tried a few basic things like re installing the game and repairing files through the xbox app but that didn't work, any help would be appreciated

I believe this is just a shortcut to the real location. You should have an “Installation folder” in your xbox app / ms store settings.

By default it's C:\XboxGames. Do you have that as well?

yes I see it now, what would I do here?

Nothing. Just confirming the game was in C:\XboxGames is enough.

I thought maybe you had another path that could have been the reason for this issue but we're back to square one. We can't reproduce it so we don't know why it happens.

Do you know of anyone thats been able to fix it or if someone has it is it just unfixable?

also unsure if this helps, but the second force field that blocks the aquarium requiring a blue tablet to open isnt there either, I was able to just walk right in after opening the first door

and neither the force field or arch are there on a new game

You have that kind of things in the log file:
Unable to open archive file: //?/C:/PROGRA~1/WindowsApps/UnknownWorldsEntertainmen.GAMEPREVIEWSubnautica_1.21.5577.0_x64__XXXXXXX/Subnautica_Data/StreamingAssets/aa/StandaloneWindows64/ws64/precursor_mushroomforestcache_teleporterdecoration.prefab_7246a4ebd7598694807192b2466e5e00.bu Failed to read data for the AssetBundle '\\?\C:\PROGRA~1\WindowsApps\UnknownWorldsEntertainmen.GAMEPREVIEWSubnautica_1.21.5577.0_x64__XXXXXXX\Subnautica_Data\StreamingAssets\aa\StandaloneWindows64\ws64\precursor_mushroomforestcache_teleporterdecoration.prefab_7246a4ebd7598694807192b2466e5e00.bu'.
We know that the bundle themselves are good, as they have the proper checksums.

My hypothesis was a problem with long names (\\?\C part), as they are truncated in the log file to 260 characters. Which is the limit for short paths on Windows.

But it doesn't seem to be the case. And as long as this can't be reproduced by us it's difficult to debug.

Since I don't know what is the cause of the problem, I don't have a fix for now. This bug doesn't affect everyone.

I see, well is there anyway I'd be able to trigger the cutscene without the enzymes and to make the world as if the arch was there, like with console commands or something? I dont have to have the scene play Id just like to finish the game as vanilla as possible

You would have to unlock the hatching enzyme blueprint with “unlock hatchingenzymes”.

The blueprint is given when you place the ion cube in your non-existent portal.

The rest should work. You can also use “goto gun” to teleport near the QEP once you're done there.

Go near the platform underwater close to the alien moonpool. The portal you're missing leads there. Without spoiling too much you should be able to finish the game that way.
