Stuck at initial Warning screen w/menu music playing but no menu
Haven't played Subnautica in a long time, just tried to start it up and it won't get past the Warning Flashing Lights screen with black background. I recognize the menu music and the water sounds and i can hear that, but the menu is not showing, it's just the warning screen that i see.

Ah ok yeah I did have some QoL mods like the autofill cablnets IIRC. I don't even remember how I installed them. Do I just delete the file you mentioned above (winhttp.dll)? I just checked and I have QMods installed. Will it have to be updated, or should I remove it in order to fix the game?

Check if you have mods. Especially a winhttp.dll in the game's folder.

I'll need your log file if it isn't that. Check the troubleshooting guide and upload its content on pastebin.

If you want to use mods with the latest version you need the proper version of the mod loader which is a BepinEx only install without Qmods which is deprecated.

Only removing winhttp.dll will suffice. As it's the entry point of the mod loader.

Awesome, thanks! I have since found out I also have Vortex, which I believe I had used to install the mods. What happens to my existing game saves which are tied to the QMods? Will those work again once I have disabled QMods and installed BepinEx? Will Vortex automate this process? I'm thinking at worst I may have to find the list of QMods I had installed and download all the BepinEx equivalent mods in order to successfully load my modded save games, yes?

I don't have the answer to this question.

I know that the game won't load modded items if you had those however. So you would have to find them again. It's possible you didn't use any mod that added modding items.

In this case you could use the save slot in vanilla.

OK, no problem, thanks. After removing the winhttp.dll file at least I can get into the game again. I will figure it out eventually. For now I just loaded one of my old saves that doesn't have any mods in it. I will figure out how to use the new mod system later.

Have the same problem but have no mods installed, nor a mod loader. Not sure why it is happening.
