Sorry if this has been asked too many times, and kinda off topic, but I purchased this game through the Oculus store (btw, I love the VR version, and was already playing the game on Xbox last summer).

Anyway, when there are patches/updates for the Steam/PC version, will these also come through Oculus updates at the same time (I know Xbox is a different timetable)?

I prefer to launch this through Oculus Home instead of Steam, as I often have audio problems when using steam VR (with all games, not just Subnautica), but I don't want to miss out on any new content.

Thanks for any reply, and keep up the great work!

(I looked for an answer at several places first, but this seemed to be the most likely place to get a response.)
i have this game on steam and the occulus controls and everything is totalt F&#$ed

I feel like the developers abandoned vr updates like a sinking ship

Have they been able to resolve the bugs with Oculus Rift hand controller support yet? What's taking so long?

Me to. The only buttons on the controllers that work are the left mini-stick and the A/B buttons which do the same thing. No ability to choose options on the menus. And when you drop into the game it seems to be on constant movement in one random direction so you are just being constantly pushed around. They need to get this sorted.

After hours of fiddling I managed to get Subnautica VR working with the Oculus controllers. The biggest problem is not have the right thumbstick working so rotation is not normally possible. Instead I setup the controller config to the following;

Move - Left thumb stick
Look left - Right trigger
Look right - Left trigger
Jump - Y button
PDA - left menu button
Exit/holster - B button
Left hand/use - A button
Right hand - X button
Cycle next - Left thumb stick button (no cycle back - not needed)
Reload - Right thumb stick button (yes it does work!)
Move up - Right grip button
Move down - Left grip button

(Note: you can use the keyboard delete key to un-assign buttons)

Only problems left; I couldnt assign a controller key to 'deconstruct' and the X button is a little tricky when fighting enemies with a knife! Otherwise everything is just about playable including the subs (although haven't tried the prawn suit)

**PLEASE** Unknown Worlds - fix the right thumbstick for Oculus! - that's literally all that needs doing for VR to work beautifully! ... Subnautica is still one of the best VR games out there.

How do you set the controller config? Where? When I tried to set the controller up in VR, I could not connect any of the buttons to anything in Subnautica or Xbox controllers.
