For example, it's possible for this entire quest not to happen at all, and your reason for going to Heygrove to be entirely different from the start. However, for the branch you're currently in, this particular quest doesn't have many variations, so the outcome won't change much playing it differently. For instance it's not possible to save her as we speak, but could be a possibility in a future update.
