By werewolves, you mean as a choice for the MC, either during creation or later in the game? Since there is a werewolf companion you can recruit and level up.
Currently, you can't turn into a werewolf. Still, it may be possible for another werewolf to turn you into one. This would require rewriting parts of the story and adding new content to support the change, so while it's possible, it doesn't align with the immediate focus.
Generally, there's more flexibility in the supernatural options I can offer for companions right off the bat than for the MC, though the MC can potentially become supernatural later in the story. This isn't due to technical reasons, as companions and the MC are essentially built the same way in the game. The main considerations for supernatural species are, of course, to align with the narrative and to have meaningful implications being one. For example, soon, , you might be able to have a Wraith companion, but having the MC as a Wraith would break the story arc.
There are many additional species in the game even now, but they are locked in the sense that the MC can't access them or may never be able to. However, it's easy for modders to bypass this restriction for those who don't mind some story inconsistencies by changing a 1 to a 0.
Just in time for my birthday, heckin' sweet >:3
Yep, creation is what I meant but I wouldn't be against later depending on circumstances and such. I don't know too much about game development so I don't know what would and wouldn't be relative to mechanics and such, but as a sucker for anything supernatural and as a hardcore villian apologist who goes bananas for like, opposites attract and junk like forbidden lover drama BS or even the complete opposite like sworn enemies tropes and such (ugh its hard not to say stuff haha) it just feels like it'd be a super cool thing to see and grapple with as a character...? But given all of the stuff that's been done so far, I wouldn't be dissapointed if it couldn't realistically be done story-wise.
But ye what you mentioned in the spoiler makes complete sense. I wasn't sure how far along the story had been mapped yet or if other things were planned down the road so it just seemed like a good question to ask.
<stare> omg I'm so excited for this update!!!!
That's fair, I think what I was looking for would've been story specific...? As a way to branch out a little more. I know there's things relative to the Dhampir line for example and I was hoping to see a lot more of that with the other races, or even have a similar opposite to that for example, someone who's half were or aligned with them in some way that vampires naturally have a disdain for or, in an ironic twist, are drawn to as like- some form of shield for them during the day...? I dunno, random little writer theories and things haha. BUT! This is all just me loving the game, I'm glad you answered at all and I hope you and your team take all the necessary breaks to deliver both the best quality and best story you can without crunching down on that December deadline too much. </3 Good luck and have fun!! :D
