Story Feedback
I think I just finished the story, I went with the non-vampire route. I looked at both endings of taking the orbs power and not taking it.
I think the end of the story could use some more companion dialogue reactions and indirectly telling you to now go explore the world.

More importantly, I think the vampire route build up needs some work. It feels sudden when you're offered the power, and then killing all your companions. There's barely any build up or hint at how deep the betrayal runs. There should be more tempting you first, perhaps in some side quests or some dreams meant to corrupt you and not just explain your past to you. In-character, her offer shouldn't feel like a big surprise. More build-up would make less jarring.

I usually play evil routes and figured I'd go the vampire route but just didn't after clicking on it because it felt too jarring for my character. "Oh, they're all dead, I can't even take on one of them as a thrall that retains his or herself? Dang, that wasn't what I was expecting" I think there would be more of a sense of continuity if you could choose to turn Sheela like is suggested but shot down.

I did get it early access and I love the foundation and idea of transferring into the sandbox. I'm excited for further updates to expand the game and get the sandbox and story more fleshed out!

Thank you, Jaz! There will certainly be more side quests in the future, both before and after the arc’s conclusion, as well as more companion scenes. These take place after resting in camp or at the inn. So I was thinking this too a few days back, and the main issue is that these scenes need to occur before certain quests begin, and the camp itself is easy to overlook. In fact, it's possible to play through the entire game without resting even once. As a result, it's extremely easy to miss this exposition entirely.

Resting becomes more important after the Oxgate update, as it introduces a fatigue system. This should naturally encourage you all to rest from time to time and so experience these moments more organically.

The vampire path is tied to touching the Orb in the prologue, which infuses you with a vast amount of corruption. Some might say it guides you toward a darker path, but in reality, it simply darkens your very soul the moment you touch it. There are a few nightmares that foreshadow this potential transformation, though you may not experience them all, depending on how quickly you reach the ruins. But accepting it, for whatever reason, is an inevitable descent. You can neither resist the bloodlust nor your sire at that moment. It is too early to make sense of it.

I'll work further on this aspect to enhance the buildup. It's equally important that you have the chance to resist as it is to succumb to temptation.

You also have the opportunity to role-play your character’s feelings about what happened and reflect on your choices and their consequences. There are many ways the vampire path can unfold, and you can both regret or own what you did.

It is already possible to turn Sheela into a vampire, as long as she is a romance interest and you have a strong relationship with her. You also get to keep both Janus and Ludo. Reyla turns them into thralls, and they become Brawn and Tricks, respectively. Brawn is a ghoul, and Tricks is a lesser tainted vampire. You can level them up again, as on a technical level, they are different actors with different attributes, and as thralls, they can not participate in skill rolls.

Well, if you do get to play this path and reach its various conclusions, I would love to hear your thoughts on it, too.

So I don't remember if I touched the orb at the start, but I didn't have any corruption points points before getting the choice to turn into a vampire so I suppose I didn't. I did choose to be a lover with Reyla at the start, so maybe that affected it and got me the choice?

Also, is there a console command to increase my relationship with someone? (That way I can take a look at certain story elements faster in the Vampire path)

Being a Dhampir and feeling the thirst calling you, Reyla's lover, or being immune to vampirism can all lead to slightly different outcomes compared to the norm. It could also be that your save was created before corruption was implemented as a mechanic. However, the main requirement to receive the offer is to touch the Orb and become corrupted by it.

Yes, the Reward command can also modify relationship values. For example: Reward You Relationship:Sheela.40
