Minor complaint
Revealed hexes with a ? in them are a load of BS. How am i supposed to logically deduce whats around those hexes when all i've got is a bleepin "?" I've read that every puzzle can be deduced logically, and I also call BS on that as well, especially at the start of some puzzles. Give me a clue this column has only 1 blue hex in it. There are 8 hexes in this column. This looks like a good place to start, lets pick- oops mistake. That's a guess. And inevitably I get it wrong. So, I call BS.

That is all.

Go play tic-tac-toe. Should be more your speed. That is all.

thanks for the completely unrelated and unfounded character attack.

I understand my post came across as more of a rant than anything else, but honestly I am looking for tips that are not covered in the 'tutorial' puzzles for each section.

Any constructive replies welcome :)

Every puzzle *can* be solved logically. If you think you need to guess, you're missing a bit of information on the board. Feel free to post images of where you're stuck if you want a hint of how to proceed.

A ? cell just means it's a dead cell. Look elsewhere if you haven't already narrowed things down enough yet.
so is a ? just like a zero? there's never going to be a blue cell next to it?
Berahlen 10 Nov, 2016 @ 12:05am
No, it's an unknown. It'll never tell you how many are next to it. All it tells you is it's not blue. Which...can actually be useful enough in itself, depending on other nearby clues.

These puzzles are all handcrafted to be solvable on logic alone. ? cells are used to restrict your logical options by blocking you out of easy paths, or force you to get a bit more creative with how other clues intersect around it.

The front fell off. 10 Nov, 2016 @ 12:58am
i noticed. It makes me grumpy lol
OP, post a screenshot. I've done so from time to time, and the replies pointing out "There, in that place." made me go "OF COURSE!"

We're even eager to help with that, because the games rock!

Umm... is this about Hexcells or about one of the sequels?! Because i've just played this one to 100% and never seen any "?" anywhere...

I forget if they actually showed up in the first game TBH.

Guys, first of all. What "question mark cells" are you talking about? Nowhere in this game I found that.

I'm willing to help but you are talking paranormal activity here.

I'd like screenshots too but I don't know to do that myself :c

They're in Hexcells Plus, introduced in level 3-1 (or 13, depending on which numbering scheme you use).

Here's how that level starts: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1592791840
