Is it possible to switch the mouse keys?
Soo... played minesweeper since Win 3.1 -_-; Yeah, this is a game for me. HOWEVER! Thus far I've not made a single perfect first run through ANY puzzle here and it bugs me, because I always mess up by clicking the wrong button. (Okay, one or two were logic errors. But everything else!)

So I'm looking for either of two solutions please!
A) Comprehensive tips on deprogramming decades of mindless minesweeper training!
-OR-
B) The answer to the question of 'How do I switch my mouse keys!'

There's a settings window when you start the game

Okay, found the Input Tab. Thank you for getting me this far.

Now. How do I get it to accept mouse keysas valid inputs? Because it wont. I've double clicked, and anything that isn't a key press gets that pesky invalid chime. (Haven't gotten far enough to see how that works in game...)

I dunno, works for me.
For me it shows a popup window which is supposed to intercept the inputs and also be the region where you click with the mouse. If you clicked on some other window, then it chimed probably, yeah.

It doesn't work for me either. What computer are you on, OrangeMade? It shows no region to click my mouse on on Mac.

I had the same problem. The only mistakes I make are when I forget which button does what.

Most of the screen in this game is empty, they could really put an informational text somewhere...

Shame on me for not following this up. I did figure this out a while ago. So here's a bit of step-by-step, for anyone else that might find it useful.

1) Start the game
2) Select the 'Input Tab' from the Hexcell's Configuration window
A- Below the banner, above the options there are two tabs. Graphics and Input.
3) As directed in the window - Double click an entry
A- Double click specifically in the Primary or Secondary column to change respective entry.
B- A box should appear towards the upper left of the Configuration window labeled 'Input Configuration'. It will remain on top of most other windows.
4a) Keystrokes can be entered at anypoint.
4b) Mouse clicks will be accepted ONLY if the mouse hovers over the 'Input Configuration' window - otherwise you may get the system's error chime.
5) Select 'Play!' Button when satisfied

BONUS - If you select, say, Right Button Primary, and Left Button Secondary for the same action every click is both a success and a mistake:rfacepalm: choose wisely!

It does not work even if I hold my mouse above the input configuration window.

What doesn't work? That's kinda vague.

Now it's possible that your game may be glitched, won't deny it, because I'm hardly an expert. And it's been a while so things might have changed with an update. I did just start up the game to try this and had no issue.

Hmm, one sec...

There is also a failure if you try to assign a key already assigned in the same degree. That is, if your Primary has Left Button assigned to Blue, and Right to Destroy, then you can't just assign Right Button to Blue as well. You need a third option, Like the Space bar. Then you change Destroy, and can go back to changing Blue.

It doesn't work, as in clicking the window does nothing. It no longer matters, as I have fixed it by modifying the file through the terminal on my computer.

For future reference - when you say 'Window' do you just mean anywhere on the settings window(Hexcells Configuration) or in that specific tiny upper left corner window (Input Configuration)??

With multiple windows I'd like more clarification.

And oddly, while yesterday the Input window refused to set the Primary to duplicate values, today I could set everything to be the same key -_-;

AAAAND I discover this after beating the game :steamfacepalm:
