Level 6-2 [spoiler]
I solved all other levels, only 6-2 remaining. What am I supposed to do? Only the next step, please.

Note the 2 at the very bottom. It needs 2 blue cells and is surrounded by 1 uncovered cell on the left and 2 uncovered cells on the right. If the cell to the left is blue, then only 1 cell on the right can be blue and if the cell on the left is not blue, then that means both cells on the right must be blue. These are the only 2 possibilities concerning the cell on the left, which means that at least 1 of the cells on the right must be blue. Furthermore, since the cells in that column must be sequential, then the top cell on the right of that 2 has to be blue. This also means that the top uncovered cell in that column cannot be blue.

I feel like I explained this rather poorly.

I understood it! Great thinking, many thanks!

EDIT: 100p now, thank you!

Since so many get stuck here I don't mind bumping. Thanks for the explanation. I managed to get myself out of every challenge so far except for this one which made me feel really dumb :rfacepalm:

EDIT: Yeah, just finished the rest of the game with no major problems. Stupid brain.

While I've passed the level itself through trial and error, I've returned to it to try and understand the puzzle logic. I'm also stuck at this part of the level in trying to understand the logic behind how to proceed. I've uploaded a screenshot for reference:

So for the "2" cell, there are three possible combinations:

AB
BC
AC

If AB, then D is empty to satisfy the "3" cell.
If BC, then D is filled to satisfy the "3" cell.
If AC, then D is filled to satisfy the "3" cell

I just haven't been able to wrap my head around the logic of how one decides to proceed. If someone could walk me through it, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks,

M.

The blue cell's column must be consecutive because of the {6} at its head. This means that if cell C is blue, then cell B must also be blue. Therefore, AC cannot be an option since that would leave cell B as non-blue and thus not satisfy the sequential {6} for that column.

We still don't know whether the correct combination is AB or BC, but we now know that B must be blue since we ruled out AC and B is included in both remaining options. Looking at B's entire column, we now have 5 blue cells, and since we know that there are only 6 cells in the column and they must be sequential, we can rule out the very top uncovered cell in that column; because if it was blue, it would break the sequential rule. Once that cell is uncovered, more of the puzzle can be reasoned around that cell.

Edit: I had cell B and cell C backwards in the second sentence.

That was the answer I needed myself! I just kept whacking my head against the wall and not seeing it. I'd solved it -once- but didn't remember the right step and couldn't swear against it being a lucky choice.
