Game won't start
I'm on Mac OSX 10.7.5, and when I try to start the game the Configuration screen shows up just fine. No matter what I put in the Configuration, when I launch the game a black window shows up, and then stops responding. No matter how long I wait, the game never starts, and the window just stays black and unresponsive the whole time.

I had this happening to me and posted on here as well. I had to verify integrity on every launch or I just got a black screen. Hopefully verifying fixes it for you

I put out an update for the game today that solved a Mac start up crash for someone else, so hopefully this will solve the issue for you as well. If not, let me know and I'll look into it.
It's fixed now, thanks for the swift response!

I have kind of the same problem with Ubuntu, I suppose it's about the configuration window at launch, because the same happens with one other game which seems to use the same configuration window.

It's kind of magic, when I tried the very first time it worked, but after that 4 times over 5 it crashed directly after launching the game from the config window. But one time over 5 it just works, so if I want to play I just try to touch at everything in the config window and sometimes it works, but it doesn't seem to follow any form of logic. Sometimes with the same config as before it works, sometimes not.

I managed to bypass the config window by launching the game manually from the game folder but I'd like to know what to do whith this configuration window which is used is 2 or 3 games in my library... Do you know if this is a know problem ? What is the name of this config window, is there a forum about it somewhere, is it some open source config window for Ubuntu that anyone can use, or is it just an accident that it looks exactly like other config windows in other games ?

Thanks a lot

The launcher is the standard launcher for games made using the Unity engine (http://unity3d.com/unity/multiplatform/desktop).

On the website they say that Linux support is still a work in progress, so there can occasionally be issues. It does seem very odd that it works sometimes and not others.

Damn, since Unity has the same name as the ubuntu default desktop environment it's almost impossible to find something about game launcher crashing. Well I'll continue to launch the games manually from the SteamApps folder...
Thanks a lot, keep me on touch if you hear something about it

Really nice game by the way, a bit quick to finish but very good :)

I just bought the 3 pack and I have 10.9.4 OS X. Not any of those launch. :( I get the option screen (for resolution and stuff) but when I press play it just opens black screen and Activity monitor says not responding. After a while the screen disappears. Is there any logs or something to look what is causing this?

Same issue here. Regardless of what I input into the config window, black screen that causes spinning wheel. Bought it an hour ago.

edit: seem to have bumped an old thread but even verifying integrity doesnt help. 10.10.2 Yosemite here. Nvidia 320m.

I got mine working easily after I opted-out from Steam Beta. That was causing my problems.

linzie's solution worked for me, too. I had the black screen, spinning pinwheel, then opted-out of Beta on 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard) and now the game works.
