the game is out of registration

to click on anything accurately, i need to click about 5 millimetres or so above it on the screen. Like a line of text height or something. The hexagons, the menu options, everything. Like the whole program is out of registration. It's making the game annoying to play.
Running a 2021 Macbook pro, now on the latest version of Sequoia.

I just bought the game on sale and I'm having the same problem. It's to do with the camera notch area on modern MacBooks. I've seen it in quite a few games, including some on Apple Arcade, which you'd think Apple would actually run a QA pass on. I think they're calculating the position of mouse clicks from the 0,0 origin point of the screen, rather than the origin of the game window.

Fortunately it can be solved by playing the game windowed, and this is the kind of game where that isn't too much of a problem. cmd+f will switch Hexcells into windowed mode.
